Review | Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation

First off, excuse the ratchet background I used for my photos... I don't have a good place to take photos.

Okay, so I've heard many good things about this foundation.
I have read in reviews that it may not be good for those with oily skin but since I'm only oily in my t-zone mainly, and everywhere else isn't too bad, I decided to give this a try.

(With flash)
(Without Flash)

So... since it's disgusting I didn't want to take a photo of it, but just trust me and take my word for it. This foundation clung to my dry skin around my nose and... it was just horrifying. Overall, it has a very oily feeling to it, and it just accentuates my dry skin... :(
I wanted to like it but I can't. I don't know why this does this to my dry skin since so many people with dry skin love it and well obviously, they have dry skin. Maybe it'll work better once I exfoliate and remove all my dry and dead skin... I don't know what to say honestly, this has never happened to me before. Oh and the smell is kind of strong too.

I will update after a few more tries post-exfoliation haha.

OATS OATS OATS OATS OATS | A health post.

Some of you may or may not agree with me, but I believe in the "Sh*t yourself skinny" thing.
Now, I'm not saying you should just sit on the toilet and poop all day or anything.
YOU STILL NEED TO EXERCISE.
I'm just saying you should eat foods that help you get rid of the toxins in your body, and I'm saying eat things that help you go to the bathroom so that what you eat doesn't stay in your body long enough to become fat.

This is all just how I look at things, and my thought process after months of trying different things and months of research.

I have discovered that going to the bathroom to excrete the ungodly thing one calls poop, feces, whatever, helps with bloating. I also discovered (not from personal experience thank goodness) that if you keep these excrements in your body, they start to come out through the pores in your body making you smell like it. This also applies with consuming a lot of a certain foods for example us Japanese people (yes, I'm half Japanese) usually smell like fish... because we eat it so much and it stays in our system so long it starts to make its way through our pores. Just like my korean friend who always smells like kimchi... I'm not being racist, I'm just putting some examples out there and letting you know that the same thing happens when you keep poop in your system.

The foods I eat to help me get rid of these toxins are (this isn't all of it, just some of the recent ones I've been loving):

I eat the fiber one bar first thing in the morning before I go to the gym. I eat it for the sole purpose of having something light in my system to turn into energy while I workout. It's not a lot of calories, which is good. A banana in the morning works too for when you need a quick source of energy (just a note, they don't last very long as a source of energy). Also, it's very good to drink a cold glass/bottle of water first thing when you wake up to get your metabolism going. By putting something cold in your stomach, it tries to counteract it by generating heat which speeds up your metabolism! (:

On days I don't go to the gym and have more time in the morning, I eat oatmeal. I couldn't find the box but I usually buy the one that comes with three kinds in them. It's filling (for me at least) and it's low on calories. It's made of oats which helps get my system moving.

Another option for incorporating oats into your breakfast is putting multigrain cereal on your yogurt, and adding some honey! It's super delicious. If you don't have time to make it before you leave, or don't want to buy the ingredients separately, they sell the greek yogurt with honey and oats at starbucks (but it can get pretty pricey if you buy it every morning). OH! YOPLAIT SELLS THEM IN PAIRS, SO GO TO YOUR NEAREST SUPERMARKET! :D There's four flavors to choose from so have fun eating healthy! (I think other brands have their own versions of these, so maybe you can find them cheaper at your local store?)

This is what they look like:

So you're probably wondering about the almond slices I added to the photo.
Here's why they're there (Yes, I copied and pasted this information but I have read through them):

1) Almonds have an extremely high nutritive value since they contain copper, iron and vitamins and are used as a remedy for anemia.
2) Almonds are also beneficial in treatment of constipation since they increase the fiber content of the food as well.
3) Almonds contain monounsaturated fats and some polyunsaturated fats. They help lower the low-density lipoprotein (the bad cholesterol) while maintaining the high-density lipoproteins (good cholesterol levels).
4) Almonds contain Alpha-tocopherol, which is a major source of Vitamin E and is hence really great for healthy hair and skin (who wouldn't want that?).
5) Almonds also increase the blood flow to the vital organs.
6) Almonds provide nutrients that help to increase the bone mineral density, which helps to strengthen the skeletal system.

and much much more. But I can't keep adding on to this forever so basically the point is, it's really fucking amazing. SO EAT ALMONDS. IF YOU HATE THEM, GET OVER IT AND THINK OF THE GREAT RESULTS YOU'LL GET FROM EATING THEM. <33

Stay fit.

Haul/Review | Benefit - How to Look the Best at Everything & Anastasia Illumin8 with Youthful Synergy Complex Eyeshadow Palette

Recently, I've been buying makeup again (as usual) and it's been really bad. It's all on impulse...

At Sephora, I bought the How to Look the Best at Everything set by Benefit in Medium.
Below are photos of the actual set, swatches, and my face as I apply each product. (:
(Click on each photo for a HD preview)

This is what the outside looks like, when you open it, all the sample size products are lined up inside. You can remove the casing of the products to use this as a safekeeping box!

Here are the swatches:
(From left to right) Hello Flawless Foundation, Boi-ing Concealer, Hello Flawless Powder
I don't know if you can tell but the Boi-ing concealer in 02 has a more pinky undertone compared to 03. Not quite sure why, but I used the salmon/pinky one under my eyes to cancel out my purple undereye circles and the 03 on everything else.

My bare face:

Primer + Foundation:

Primer+Foundation+Concealer:

Everything + Powder:

After I did all that, I just decided to finish off the rest of my makeup (:
What I'm wearing:
Eyes: Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow in 710 Not Just Nudes Quad
Contour and Blush: MAC - Hibiscus Kiss (RiRi Loves MAC Summer Collection)
Falsies: Katy Perry - OH, Honey!
Lipstick: MAC - RiRi Boy
(I did my hair and came back and decided to take a stupid pic...that's why my hair looks different haha)

PLEASE READ!
I liked the products that  came in the Benefit set (at first) but it didn't last very long before I got super oily and shiny. I did use moisturizer before applying my Porefessional and I still got super duper oily. I'll give this set a few more tries but for now, I'm not sure if I'm a big fan :/

At this moment, I'd give this purchase

♡♡
2/5 Luvs :(

 Next up is my purchase from Nordstrom Rack! I got this baby for $13 (original retail price: $30)!
It's the Anastasia Illumin8 with Youthful Synergy Complex Eyeshadow Palette in #1 Cavalli.

The eyeshadows are super pigmented (I swear eyeshadow 1 is there, my lighting just wasn't the best and I'm pretty tan so that might not help much haha) and very easy to blend. I'm glad I got this, and I may make another trip to Nordstrom Rack to get another one of these palettes (: Even with two, it's still not the price of one!

I've done a couple of looks with these colors but since I didn't use these eyeshadows on their own yet, I can't post any pics, sorry! I'll update with an eyeshadow look that used only these eyeshadows!

I'd give this palette

♡♡♡♡♡
5/5 Luvs!

Sephora HAUL! | Benefit, Laura Mercier, and UD

Aloha!

Today, my mom and I went to Sephora to get my sister, her, and me some stuff.

My mom bought everything (yay lucky me!). I'm broke at the moment ;__;
Anyway, we bought the Naked 2 Palette for my sister, an UD eyeshadow in Chopper for mom, and the Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit and Benefit Dr. Feelgood for me.

UD Eyeshadow in Chopper (Swatch below)

It's a golden bronze shade with a pink undertone.
Originally, my mom wanted to get a Too Faced eyeshadow in a similar color but it was in a palette. We found this one which was sold individually and it was pretty close so she bought this instead (:

UD Naked 2 Palette (comes with lipgloss)
Has plenty of neutral shades and a couple of dark ones if you want to switch it up for a night look (:
I think this suits people of lighter skin complexions (like my sister for example who is super duper pale).

Benefit Dr. Feelgood

On the instructions it says to use it OVER your makeup once you are done. I've seen some people use it before putting on their makeup as a primer. I think that's what I'll try. I bought the sample size.

AND THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF OUR TRIP TO SEPHORA TODAYYYYY!!

Mi Madre bought me the Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit! It was $65 (and what comes in the kit is worth over $159 actually). I got the kit in Sand.

So here is what the kit came with:

Undercover Pot
Foundation Primer
Tinted Moisturizer
Camouflage Powder Brush
Secret Camouflage Brush
Velour Puff
Sponge
Clear Makeup Bag

Undercover Pot
Secret Camouflage (Left pan) & Secret Concealer (Right Pan)
Translucent Setting Powder

Tinted Moisturizer Spf 20 (Left) & Foundation Primer (Right)

(From Left to Right) Secret Camouflage, Secret Concealer, Primer, Tinted Moisturizer

Camouflage Powder Brush (Top)
Secret Camouflage Brush (Bottom)

I will be back with reviews and updates on the Dr. Feelgood and Laura Mercier Kit. (:

Elf | Mini Haul from Target! (and one irrelevant product haha)

I went to Target today, and found some Elf products! I've never actually gone to a store that held Elf products, I've always just ordered online. Seeing everything in person was very exciting for me (lame, I know). Looking at all the choices I had was like being a little kid in a candy store!

I didn't really pick up anything exciting today, because I didn't have much time to look.

Today's pickups:

Zit Zapper
Eyelid Primer in Sheer
Tone Correcting Concealer in Light Beige
Contouring Blush & Bronzer Powder in St. Lucia
Kabuki Face Brush
Daily Brush Cleaner
CLEARANCE (YAAAAAS!) - Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Little Miss Thing

Katy Perry Lashes (adhesive included) in Oh, Honey!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This blush & bronzer duo is hmm... a 3/5 luvs. I like the blush, and I don't mind the  shimmer in it. But the bronzer is wayyyyyyyy tooooooooo shimmery. On top of that, it has a super red muddy undertone. Exactly what I was hoping NOT to get. The consistency of both the blush and bronzer are really good though. Easy to apply and blend. I think I can work with the bronzer, I'll try to use not too much of it and hope it doesn't get too dirty looking. We'll see what I can do. I want to make it work, and I want to like it. The blush is a light pink color and super pigmented. Very nice, and I like the way it looks on my cheeks.
The Kabuki Face brush shed a lot at first but after a little while it was alright. It's really soft, and I like that it packs on powder without making it look cakey. The daily brush cleaner definitely smells like alcohol. I don't know how to tell but hopefully it's doing its job!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 This Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick was on clearance because the eyeshadow was all messed up. I really like gold champaign shades and this was one of them. I picked it up, shrugged, and said I'd just depot it.

I may not be the best at depotting, but it's okay. Still works the same. It works nice as a creme eyeshadow, and it has good lasting power. I put it on as soon as I got home, and it's still going strong (it's been a few hours). It doesn't crease too badly. Nothing that makes me look like I've been wearing it forever. Setting it with an eyeshadow might be a good idea though.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The zit zapper is basically your usual salicylic acid formula but twice as much. It has 1% salicylic acid in it (most products only use 0.5%) and some witch hazel. Witch hazel is supposed to help clear out your pores and it also helps with comedones which are little bumps on your face that are hard and it looks like you have puss in it. It's a baby pimple, if you put it simply.
The eyelid primer is my all time favorite. Costs $1 and does the job better than a high end primer.
NOW THIS CONCEALER. OMFG. EW. It covers very well, I must say. But it STINKS SO BAD. It just smells like straight chemicals. It felt like I was rubbing very bad unhealthy skin destroying chemicals onto my face. Couldn't wait to wash it off. Just going by the smell, I wouldn't be surprised if my face was completely deteriorated by tomorrow morning. The product itself though, is not too bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This isn't even and Elf product but I think it's my favorite purchase today!
I've been looking for these everywhere and I have finally found them! The two other falsies are always in stock but these specific Oh, Honey! ones were sold out everywhere else.
I like these, they look natural but dramatic at the same time. Definitely going to put them on tomorrow! (:
